7 Days in Havana consists of seven short films all aroud the beautiful and iconic city of Havana. Some familiar faces are among the cast, Emir Kusturica (Underground, Time of Gypsies), who appears as himself in “Jam Session” directed by Trapero (Carancho); also German-Spanish actor Daniel Brühl (Goodbye Lenin) in “La Tentacion de Cecilia” by Medem. The film brings out the beauty of the city combined with personal touch of each director, such as high tempo cinematography of Gaspar Noé (Irreversible, Enter the Void) in the segment “Ritual” or the mastery of Laurent Cantet (Entre les Mur) in capturing the breath taking performances from amateur actors in “La Fuente” or the Latino romance specific for Medem in “La Tentacion de Cecilia”.
